Coach plunges into ravine, injuring 12

LAO CAI — Twelve passengers suffered serious injuries on Saturday when their coach plunged into a gully in the northern province of Lao Cai.

Eight of them are in provincial hospitals in critical condition.

Driver Nguyen Xuan Truong, 49, said he was negotiating down Ban Vuoc Slope on the province's Road 155 when he lost control on the slippery surface and plunged into the gully.

The accident is still under investigation. — VNS
