Rare white tiger born at eco-tourism site

NGHE AN — A white cub was born to coloured tiger parents at the Trai Bo Eco-tourism site in Dien Lam Commune in the central province of Nghe An on Tuesday.

It is believed to be the first recorded case of yellow tigers delivering a white baby tiger in South East Asia, said tourist site's director Nguyen Sy Phong.

The mother tiger also gave birth to two yellow cubs. Each of the three cubs weighs about 1.2kg. All are in good health.

The tiger parents were imported from a zoo South Africa in 2009. Native tigers are believed to have been wiped out in Viet Nam. — VNS
