Heat wave may hit this weekend

HA NOI — A heat wave with temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius is forecast to hit north-central provinces this weekend.

However, relief is likely to come early next week in the form of an inter-tropical convergence zone – a band of rain clouds – bringing showers and occasional thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a tropical low pressure system has appeared in the Philippines, east of Luzon Island, warns the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

It is forecast to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to the east part of the East Sea and cause rough seas along the the south central coast. – VNS
