Robbery blast

 

At least 11 people were hurt in a blast at a gold shop on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street in the capital yesterday. The picture shows the scene of the incident after the explosion. The incident occurred at about 11am when a man reportedly tried robbing the Hoang Tin Gold Shop in Ba Dinh District, triggering a mine he had hidden in a carrier bag in the process. The victims, who were then taken to Saint Paul Hospital, suffered injuries to their hands and legs plus headaches. Ta Van Thanh, the 25-year-old suspect from northern Bac Giang Province was arrested soon after the incident.
