Big fire destroys 6,000 m2 wood production workshop

DONG NAI - A 6,000 m2 wood production workshop, belonging to Huada Furniture Vietnam Co.Ltd, was completely destroyed by a fire yesterday night.

It is said that an explosion of chemicals and stored goods started the fire, which later covered the entire the storage space and spread to three other workshops.

A worker said that all storage spaces at the company contain flammable chemical and wooden materials.

Dong Nai Fire Department mobilized 20 fire-engines and 100 firefighters to extinguish the fire. However, it was difficult to get the fire under control.

At 9 pm, firefighters had prevented the fire from spreading to other areas; however the fire was not completely extinguished.

No death or injuries were reported as the fire happened when workers left their work.

The cause of the fire and property damage are still unknown

Huada Furniture Vietnam Co.Ltd, a foreign invested-company located at Tam Phuoc Industrial Zone, Dong Nai Province, specializes in producing and processing wood products. - VNS
