Hawaiian guitar club puts on show on Saturday

HA NOI  (VNS)— Guitar lovers will have a chance to enjoy an evening of romantic melodies on Saturday thanks to a concert organised by the Ha Noi Hawaii Guitar Club.

The show will take place at Heritage House, 115/9 Nui Truc Street in Ha Noi, and will feature performances accompanied by talks from cultural researchers, students and musicians. They will discuss the Hawaiian guitar style and demonstrate some practical guitar playing tips to the audience.

Bui Bach Lien, the head of Ha Noi Hawaii Guitar Club, will headline the evening with some of his favourite repertoires.

Hawaiian guitar was introduced to Viet Nam in the 1930s by composers/musicians Doan Chuan, Nguyen Thien To and Pham Manh Dat. — VNS
