Ethnic designs on show in France

HA NOI - About 50 dresses designed by Viet Nam's Minh Hanh have been chosen for display at the International Festival of Extraordinary Textiles in France from September 13-15.

The festival is a unique meeting place for professionals and to publicly showcase exceptional pieces by artisans and weavers from around the world.

Hanh will be featuring a collection made from fabrics by Mong ethnic people in the northern mountain provinces of Ha Giang and Bac Ha.

Four Vietnamese models will wear the designs with French models at Bargoin Museum in Auvergne.

Hanh will also attend seminars to discuss traditional textiles. These are given pride of place at the festival. - VNS
