Concert to raise funds for the poor at L'Espace

HA NOI — A concert titled Melody of Passion will be held at the French cultural centre L'Espace on August 30 to raise funds for poor children in Thai Nguyen Province.

Organisers, violinist Anh Tu, a lecturer at the National Music Conservatory, and his wife, opera singer Viet Dung will introduce a mix of classical music, pop and rock.

Tu will play with noted pianist Ngoc Linh for the first time. He will perform tunes such as The Four Seasons concerto and Beethoven Virus with young rockers while Dung will sing opera combined with rock for the first time.

"This is not only a show for charity, but also an art performance where we introduce experimental art," Dung said.

The couple hope to be able to hold monthly charity concerts to help disadvantaged people.

In July 2012, they organised their first charity show, entitled Love Story. The show attracted nearly 300 people. Another 200 had to be turned away because of a lack of seats.

Melody of Passion will be held at the L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi. There will be plenty of seats. — VNS
