HCM City mounts tour-guide contest

HCM CITY — Registration is now open for a contest to choose the best tour guides in HCM City for domestic and international tourists.

Travel agencies and training schools are urged to choose candidates to join the "semifinal round" to be held at the end of September. They should confirm participation in the contest by August 15 and submit a list of candidates by September 10.

Contest results, announced early October, will name five best tour guides for domestic and international tourists respectively. Five most promising tour guides from training schools will also be named.

The total prize money for the contest is VND56 million (US$2,600), organisers said. — VNS
