New book asserts island sovereignty

HA NOI — A new book that once again affirms Viet Nam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands has been presented to the public.

The 400 – page book entitled Dau An Viet Nam Tren Bien Dong (Marks of Viet Nam on the East Sea) was published by Viet Nam's Communication and Information Publishing House. It affirms that Viet Nam was the first country in the world to possess the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands, and has ruled over them since at least the 17th century.

The book aims to further inform Vietnamese people about the opinions of the Government, which is determined to defend its sovereignty over those islands in the East Sea.-VNS
