Hoi An to enjoy cultural-exchange day with Japan

DA NANG — Hoi An City will host the annual Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange on August 24-26, the local culture and sport centre said yesterday.

The event will mark the 39th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Japan (1973-2012) and lead up to their Year of Friendship in 2013.

As scheduled, a series of activities will include art exhibitions, culinary and origami performances as well as comic books and Oscar-prized cartoons.

A fair on crafts, tourism and street art will also take place during the two-day gathering.

The programme has been included in the National Year of Tourism and Heritage in the central region of Viet Nam. — VNS
