HCM CITY — Hai Phong swept the honours at the annual Super Model competition held in Ha Noi on Sunday, with models from the northern city winning both the men's and women's categories.

Vuong Thu Phuong and Vu Manh Hiep beat 14 other female and male finalists each after appearing in an ao dai (traditional robe), swimsuit, and evening dress at the final at the Friendship Cultural House.

They also went through a talent and question-and-answer round each.

Phuong, the women's winner who had also contested last year, said: "The contest made me more mature and confident."

Hiep, who has just begun his career this year, promised to keep learning.

Both were also voted the Favourite Fashion Model by the public.

The second prizes went to Nguyen Ngoc Oanh among men and Le Kien Dinh, and the third prizes to Phan Le Ai Phuong and Ha Viet Dung.

The Supermodel Contest was organised by Viet Nam Television, Cat Tien Sa Company, and Thoi Trang Tre (Youth Fashion) magazine.

This year it attracted hundreds of amateurs and professionals aged between 18 and 25, who took part in qualifying rounds in Ha Noi and HCM City at the end of last month — VNS
