Dak Lak shuts wood processing plants

DAK LAK (VNS)— The province of Dak Lak in the Central Highlands has suspended 67 wood processing facilities after they were found to be committing several violations.

The province is suffering from increasing deforestation and illegal encroachment on forest land and local authorities have been cracking down on environmental offenders, mobilising military forces to help protect the nature.

The latest enterprises to be suspended have been found to be undertaking construction activities in and around forest land, buying and selling timber without legal permission and causing environmental pollution. — VNS
