FPT chief resigns after clash with board

HA NOI – (VNS) The chief executive officer of information technology company FPT, Truong Dinh Anh, has resigned after only one year in the position.

Anh, 42, had quit after clashing with the board of directors over "strategic planning and operating methods", the board said in a statement released yesterday.

Last month, Anh warned he wanted to reform sections that did not fit in with corporation plans and that he would need the board's support or he may resign.

Board chairman Truong Gia Binh will take over the leadership until next year.

The board said it highly appreciated Anh's "great and numerous contributions" to the group and assessed him as a good leader.

"His resignation is unfortunate," the board said.

Anh, who is co-founder of the group, was still a member of the board. He also remained an advisor and member of the FPT subsidiary boards – FPT Retail, FPT Telecom and FPT Online.

Anh graduated from the National University of Economics in 1992 and has been working at FPT since 1993. – VNS
