Investment confabs to focus on past decade

HCM CITY — An investment conference will discuss the theme, Vietnamese Enterprises' Decade of Illness, will be held by the Investment Bridge Magazine in HCM City on August 16 and in Ha Noi on August 23.

The event theme centres on the government's credit-loosening policy in a decade of high economic growth, which resulted in companies' dependence on bank capital and investment in areas that were not their core business. Many of them suffered losses as a result.

Experts include Truong Dinh Tuyen, former minister of trade, Vo Tri Thanh, deputy head of the Central Institute for Economic Management, and Dominic Price, managing director of JP Morgan Vietnam.-VNS
