First fingerprint debit card launched

HCM CITY — Mekong Development Bank (MDB) launched on Tuesday Viet Nam's first card employing biometric fingerprint-authentication technology made by Swiss firm Temenos.

The card is expected to provide better convenience and security to customers.

Cardholders can use the fingerprint function at the bank's biometric ATMs provided by American NCR Corp.

At the more than 9,000 ATMs of the Smartlink system and 20,000 points of sale (POS) that cooperate with the bank, customers will use their normal personal identification number (PIN).-VNS
