Ha Noi, Japan study viaduct viability

The Ministry of Transport and Ha Noi People's Committee are co-operating with the Japan International Co-operation Agency to carry out a feasibility study on building a viaduct in Mai Dich and South Thang Long region of the capital city.

The viaduct, 6km long, would connect the south of Mai Dich Bridge to the south of Thang Long Bridge. With a total capital of nearly VND6.2 trillion (US$298 million), the four-lane viaduct will have a width of 24metres.

Vietjet Air to increase flight frequency

Private carrier VietJet Air on Sunday announced it would increase the number of domestic flights from October 14.

It will increase the number of flights on the HCM City-Nha Trang route to two a day, on the HCM City-Da Nang route to three and the Ha Noi-Da Nang route to two per day.

The carrier has also announced it would sell low-cost tickets for these flights. Accordingly, 10,000 tickets will be sold on its website from 21pm to 24pm tomorrow for just VND99,000. These tickets are for flights between 14 October 2012 to 31 March 2013.

Ha Noi spends on animal disease prevention

The Ha Noi People's Committee will increase funding for animal disease prevention efforts this year.

It will pour an additional VND11.5 billion from the city budget to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to carry out disease prevention programmes on domestic cattle and poultry.
