The nation's trade deficit will be reduced to 10 per cent of total exports by 2015 under a plan formulated by the Government for the 2011-20 period with a vision to 2030.

Under the plan, from now to 2020, the country will increase exports by 11-12 per cent and limit import growth to 10-11 per cent per year.

Efforts will be made to identify goods and services with high export potential and competitiveness so that the Government can issue support policies.

In the long run, the nation will try to wipe out its trade deficit and achieve a surplus.
