Government buys boost Delta rice prices
A programme to buy 500,000 tonnes of rice for temporary reserves has increased the price of paddy by VND250-300 per kilo in the Mekong Delta, according to the Viet Nam Food Association. Dried paddy price is selling for VND5,000-5,200 per kilo in An Giang Province, and VND5,000-5,100 a kilo in Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Tien Giang provinces. After seven days of implementation of the programme, companies have purchased about 10-15 per cent of the reserve quantity.

Viet Nam, India strengthen co-operation
Economic, trade and investment relations between Viet Nam and India have developed rapidly in the past years, a conference in Ha Noi heard yesterday.
Bilateral trade had reached US$3.9 billion in 2011, quadruple the figure of five years ago. It reached $1.89 billion in the first half of this year. Viet Nam-India trade has a stable legal framework, and India has recognised Viet Nam as a market economy.
Organised by the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and the Indian Embassy in Ha Noi, the event marked the 40th anniversary of Viet Nam-India diplomatic ties and five years of strategic partnership between the two countries.

Khanh Hoa attracts $205 million in FDI
The south central province of Khanh Hoa granted investment certificates to four foreign investment projects in the first half of the year, worth a total of US$185.6 million, according to the province's Department of Planning and Investment.
For the period, investors registered to increase investment capital of more than $20 million in existing projects, the department said. The province has also revoked investment certificates for two FDI projects because of market difficulties faced by investors.
