Railway accidents decline in first half of year

The number of railway accidents in the first half of the year decreased compared with same period last year, according to the Viet Nam Railway Corporation (VRC).

There were 234 railway accidents in the first six months of the year, 20 less than the same period last year. The accidents killed 120 people and injured 150 others. The VRC said most railway accidents occurred due to negligence of road users mainly at intersections of road and rail lines.

Thanh Hoa attracts 18 projects in six months

The northern-central province of Thanh Hoa has licensed 18 projects worth a total investment capital of VND5 trillion (US$238.3 million) in the first half of the year.

Two of them are foreign invested projects with a combined capital of $28 million.
