Khanh Hoa cuts land fees for foreign investors
The Khanh Hoa Province's People's Committee has directed local authorities to grant a 50-per-cent discount on land rental fees to foreign-invested businesses operating in trade and services in the province. The Department of Planning and Investment said it would help businesses in tough times reducing income taxes and value-added taxes, and approaching banks for loans. The province has 86 FDI projects with total capital of $1.2 billion.

Over 5,000 find jobs working abroad
More than 5,300 people in HCM City have found jobs through eight job transaction sessions held this year, according to the city's Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. More than 2,400 Vietnamese employees have gone to work in countries and territories, including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.
In 2012, the department issued nearly employment licences to 2,470 foreign employees.

Quang Ngai funds coastal road construction
The Quang Ngai Province's People's Committee has approved an increase of investment capital from VND2.5 trillion ($120 million) to VND5.6 trillion ($269 million) for a project to build 117 kilometres of Dung Quat – Sa Huynh coastal road. The increase covers construction and land-clearance costs.
The construction, which began in 2010, is planned to be completed in 2020. Builders are working on the 12-km route, six-lane My Khe – Tra Khuc, which extends from Son Tinh Town to Tinh Khe Commune.

Cham festival to be held in Ninh Thuan
A cultural, sports and tourism festival for the Cham people in Ninh Thuan Province will be held at the end of September. The festival will feature traditional Cham dances, songs, cuisine, costumes, sport competitions and tours of local landscapes.
The two-day and three-night event will take place at four sites, including Po Klonggirai Tower tourism area, Huu Phuoc Commune's stadium, My Nghiep brocade weaving village and Bau Truc pottery village.
