High-school graduation rate hits record
Viet Nam's 63 provinces and cities achieved record high school graduation rate of 98.97 per cent this year, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.
The number of provinces and cities with a 99 per cent rate is 33, with traditional strongholds being joined by provinces that usually have low rates.
Northern Bac Kan Province, where the rate was just 20 per cent in 2007 but increased to 88.7 per cent last year, has reported a rate of 99.63 per cent.

Chinese medicine doctors flee clinic
Health inspectors are set to recommend that the HCM City Department of Health should slap a severe penalty on a traditional Chinese medicine clinic in Phu Nhuan District's Phan Dang Luu Street whose doctors fled when inspectors came around on June 18.
The surprise inspection was made after several patients sent letters of complaint to authorities. According to an official from the department, the clinic has been inspected and fined several times but its violations conitnued. It is reported that its doctors do not have licences and other certificates.
